The goal of the Social Studies Department of M.S. 390 is to transmit students the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values that enable them to become productive and active citizens who make informed and reasoned decisions in a culturally diverse, democratic society. Through the disciplines of geography, history, government, and economics, we aim to increase students’ global awareness, instill a commitment to social justice, and motivate them to become informed, participatory citizens.
